School Information

• Students can start arriving at 8:45 a.m.  Class begins at 9:00 a.m.  Car riders may only be dropped off at the front of the school; the bus loop is designated for only buses.
• Please place your child’s car seat on the passenger side of the car.
• Please stay in your car. Teachers will greet you and help get your child out of the car, and direct them to the entrance door.
• Please stay in the single-file drop off line and move ahead to the front as directed by the teachers on duty. Do not pull out of line to pass other cars as this can create a hazard.
• Once in the building, your child will be directed to their classroom that is either in the blue or red hallway. Each child will have a red or blue backpack tag that includes their name and their teacher’s name. Teachers will assist and supervise students until class begins.

• Teachers will take students to the front of Rose Union at 3:55 p.m., and sit in assigned areas as they wait to be picked up.
• Please stay in your car.
• Please wait until the cars ahead of you are loaded and then pull ahead with the line.  Do not pull out of line to pass other cars as this can be dangerous.
• Please make sure that your "Car Tag"/ID sign is on the front passenger dashboard or windshield area.  If you do not have the car tag/ID tag, you will need to park and call the office. 
• Teachers will help your child into the car.  Please pull forward into the parking lot if your child needs assistance in buckling their seat belt.

Students must be free of fever, vomit and diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school. It is important that you report your child's absence by sending an email to ruattendance@dcsok.org. You will need to provide your name, child's name, teacher, and a brief reason for the absence. Please include a Dr. note if applicable.

The preferred method for placing money on your child's lunch account is through the Infinite Campus portal; however, cash and checks are also accepted.

We certainly understand that there will be times when kids need to check out early for appointments. Simply park and come into our office and we will call for your child after your ID has been checked. If you are leaving for a Doctor's appointment, don't forget to send your Doctor's note the next day so that we can code your absence as medical.

It is also important to note that three tardies or leave earlies will result in an absence. We ask that you avoid leaving early if possible.

Students are late after 9:00 a.m. It is important that you arrive on time, but if you are late, please park and walk into the building to check your child in for the day. Please do NOT drop your child off unattended.

As a reminder, our doors open for drop-off at 8:45 a.m. for students. 

Anytime temps or heat index exceeds 100 degrees, students will remain inside for recess and afternoon dismissal.

Students will also remain inside anytime the wind chill or actual temperature is below 32 degrees, which includes recess and dismissal.
